Doctor Joseph Jacobs is the creator of the Advanced Soft Tissue Release® (ASTR) specialty. He holds a doctorate of physical therapy degree from Dominican College in New York and a bachelor's degree in hotel & restaurant management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Dr. Jacobs began researching and developing his new specialty to treat patients' pain more effectively than methods he had learned in school. From 2011 to 2014 he continued to develop the maneuvers, tools, and methodologies that ASTR is composed of, and he continues to refine the elements of ASTR through ongoing research. Advanced Soft Tissue Release (ASTR) has been registered by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Dr. Jacobs is the father of young twins, Gabreil and Lily. He enjoys playing the guitar and piano, spending time with his dog, Luna, and hiking with his wife, Lindsay. He is also an active member of a local church in Mission Viejo.
Lindsay Jacobs, Office Manager at Reliant Physical Therapy, earned her degree in Liberal Studies from California State University Bakersfield. Her post-graduate studies focused on Spanish and Secondary Eduation. Lindsay studied abroad in Murcia, Spain and is a returned Peace Corps volunteer. She taught high school Spanish for a few years before partnering with her husband, Dr. Jacobs, in his endeavors as a small business owner. Lindsay also comes from a family of self made businessmen and has extensive experience working in customer service and public relations. Lindsay is a very strong communicator, is service oriented, and is compassionate towards others.
In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family, working on service projects within her community and church, and developing her skills as a pianist and singer. She loves supporting her husband, Dr. Jacobs, as he continues to grow his business and is his number one fan.
Dee Ann Pope
Dee Ann moved to California from Texas in 1979. Although she has lost her Texan drawl, she still has that friendly Texan manner! Everyone is a friend to Dee Ann, as she loves working with people and ensures they are happy.
Dee Ann started at an early age providing customer service for her parents' business in Hawaii and Texas. Even before she was tall enough to look over the counter at the customers, she would stand on a stool and assist the customers with their needs. Her greatest satisfaction was knowing that she successfully assisted the customer and that they were happy!
Over the years, Dee Ann found her way into the medical industry as an administrative assistant, where she has excelled in patient satisfaction for over six years.
Dee Ann lives in Mission Viejo with her husband and black lab. In her spare time, she helps her husband restore and maintain classic cars, which they take to car shows on the weekends. She also enjoys an variety of motorsports and sunset picnics at Dana Point Harbor.
Physical Therapy Aide
Miko Elliott was born and raised in Clovis, California located near Fresno, California attend Clovis High School. During her junior year of high school she started her first job at Cold Stone Creamery and worked there for 4 years on and off during school. After graduating she attended Fresno City College to play soccer, complete her GE course work. Two years later she left Fresno City College with two academic achievement awards as a student athlete, best defense award, made second all national community college team, and a partial scholarship to play soccer at Cal Poly Pomona. There she began completing course work for her degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science. During her last year of college she began working at Starbucks as a Barista. After graduating college she was promoted to be a supervisor and around the same time was hired by ACES comprehension learning services as a Behavioral Interventionist working hands on with children with autism.
In 2016 she moved to Orange County and started working for Dr. Jacobs at the Advanced Soft Tissue Release Institute as a Physical Therapy Aide. Her future aspirations are to go back to school to obtain her masters and find a job that helps people improve their quality of life.
