De Quervain’s

De Quervain’s disease is painful condition caused by inflammation of tendons on the thumb side of the wrist.  Grasping, making a fist, or working with the hands can agitate symptoms of De Quervain’s disease.  De Quervain’s disease affects women 8 out of 10 times more than men, and can occur after pregnancy.

Symptoms of De Quervain’s

  • Difficulty moving thumb or wrist when grasping
  • Pain near the base of the thumb
  • Stopping or sticking feeling when moving thumb or wrist
