Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disorder that damages the nerve cells in the brain that produce dopamine.  Dopamine helps us to keep our muscles calm and when dopamine levels decrease brain activity is affected.  Early stages of Parkinson’s begins with mild or slight tremors, softer speech and stiffening in the face.  These symptoms increase with time and some individuals may only experience mild symptoms.  Parkinson’s has no known cause although genes may play a role.  There is also no cure for parkinson’s disease and only treatment can help to manage the symptoms.
