Radial Tunnel Syndrome: Definition, Causes, Symptoms & יַחַס

What is Radial Tunnel Syndrome?

Radial tunnel syndrome occurs when the radial nerve experiences increased pressure which is located around the bones and muscles of the forearm and elbow. The compression can become inflammed on the muscles due to friction.  Since the radial nerve primarily affects the muscles mechanical movement, numbness and tingling rarely occurs as it does in cubital and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Radial Tunnel Syndrome Causes

4. Inflammation of surrounding tissue

Radial Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms

Due to the pressure on the radial nerve patients tend to feel a cutting, piercing, or stabbing pain a the top of the forearm or back of the hand.  The pain is commonly experienced when straightening out the wrist and fingers.
