Lupus: Definition, Statistics, Symptoms & Treatment

What is Lupus?

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system malfunctions and attacks the body’s normal, healthy tissue.  This causes inflammation, pain, and damage to occur in various parts and systems of the body.
