Manual Therapy Types
There are three main forms of manual therapy:
- Manipulation –Manipulation involves twisting the neck or back to the end of its normal range, then giving a sudden thrust to release the pressure in joint.
- Mobilization – Mobilization is comprised of an array of skilled passive movements to the joint complex that are applied at varying speeds and amplitudes.
- Massage – Massage is the repetitive rubbing or kneading of myofascial tissue.
